FOR TODAY...

Outside my window... is a scene from Disney. The snow covers the ground, the squirrel climbed into the dwarf quince tree to eat the berries; nuthatches, cardinals, woodpeckers, chickadees, snow birds (juncos), finches...are all busily attacking the birdfeeders or suet feeder. It's cold, but sunny out.

I am thinking... about the preparations we need to make to start our Daniel Fast on January 11th along with our church.

I am thankful for... God's word.

I am wearing... my standard black pants and warm, snuggly pine green turtleneck pullover.

I am remembering... holidays growing up. Grandparents house, visiting with aunts, uncles, cousins. Christmas Eve services, parties for New Years with the youth group. Not much of that happens anymore. Makes me kind of sad.

I am going...to take back a Christmas present today and exchange it...hopefully.

I am currently reading... a book on prayer...but I'll have to get back to you on the title.

I am hoping... to overcome.

On my mind... what other things God has for us to do, how does He want us to move toward complete financial freedom?

Noticing that... I can't stay feeling hopeless for long. I can't sustain the energy to be that way. It's easier to be hopeful, look forward, be optimistic.

Pondering these words... "In ALL your ways, acknowledge Him...."

From the kitchen... good question! Hmmm....need to explore what's available!

Around the house...a very noticeable need to deep clean. Every room!!

One of my favorite things - journaling, especially in a nice, leather-bound journal. Couldn't find my favorite one this year for 2010, but still found a nice one.

From my picture journal...

On this freezing, cold day...I felt a need to see a bright spring bloom. However, this snapdragon - planted in early May, was still going strong up to November 30th!! Enduring little thing, wasn't it?

We have sweet little Chickadees, too...I was, however, surprised to see a couple of nuthatches & tufted-titmousees (mice?) :-).

Tell me more about the Daniel Fast. I'm interested.

Happy New Year & Blessings, Kim<><

Lovely, and that beautiful flower so soft and sweet and yet so strong! I just started a book on prayer too. Thanks for sharing
