BITS AND PIECES!

See my first show and tell down at the bottom.

First, Happy Labor Day Weekend! Hope you enjoy the extra day off.

Two, I'm a happy camper - my hubby is now home from his business excursion to the fair land of California, Los Angelos area to be more precise. He and a team of others competed in some contest for Honda. He met with a lot of "bigwigs". They didn't place, but he was glad for the experience.
I'm glad he's home.

For my gardening friends, hope you're getting a little more rain than we are! It's been mighty dry. We try not to water - but I think if it doesn't rain tonight, watering will be a must. Things are beginning to look a bit sad. The hosta are beginning to die back, not a whole lot left in bloom. The grasses still look great, the black-eyed Susans and some of the cone flowers still look great - but it's beginning to look "fallish".

School is just around the corner. We will start on Tuesday. My daughter is SO not looking forward to it. She is just not happy about school. She'd rather spend her day drawing. But, since that's just not going to happen...she'll have to make do. This IS her Senior year, you'd think she'd be getting a little excited.

The job hunt is still going strong. I'm losing count of all the places she's been to so far. It's frustrating. I know we're not alone, loads of kids her age are looking and not finding - at least not around here. Supposedly, Boston Stoker is hiring - so we'll try there tomorrow.

I have a few prayer requests to mention. A man named Heath Hartline is not far from being with his loving Father. He's young, a husband, and a father of 2 small boys. Pray for him, his wife and children. Also, for my brother - who this next week, will celebrate his 49th birthday, and the 1 year anniversary of the loss of his wife Judi. I imagine this week will be kinda tough for him and his 5 children.

My cousin is really into blogging these days. She loves to blog with people who enjoy showing off their pretty things. It's fun to read their blogs, and see all their pictures. I'm more into gardening, and photographing the garden...however, today - just a few short weeks of our 30th anniversary, and this particular item's 30th birthday - I'd like to play show and tell. Let me introduce you to Teddy.
Teddy is a cookie jar. He was born from a mold someplace in Warren, Michigan. He was adorned with color and decor by me, fired in a kiln by my mother in our home in Warren, Michigan. When finished, he was wrapped in love and given from me to my hubby for his birthday after we were married. He's named Teddy after my hubby - that's his nickname. He's often been filled to overflowing with homemade Toll House Cookies - but of late, he's on a diet. He's only doing that for my sake, because I'm on a diet, too. Teddy has resided with us through all these years, and is of the opinion that retirement is out of the question. He's a good friend. Cute, too...like my hubby.

Just thought I'd share another member of our family with you.

PS. down 29.5!

Have a great holiday weekend.
