For Today...

Outside my window... the sunshine is streaming in. This always perks me up and makes me feel motivated.

I am thinking... I have a lot to do today. Calls to make, a doctor's appointment, and some testing and an informational meeting about working with the US Census Bureau later this evening.

From the learning rooms... The usual schedule: math - everyday living examples, American Government, English, Literature, Driver's Ed. practice test.

I am thankful for... feeling a little better and starting to get some weight off! Next week I should be the lowest I've been in a couple of years. Good stuff!

From the kitchen... we will be having salsa chicken tonight - which reminds me, I better get that in the crockpot soon. I'll fix some Jasmine Rice, some Mixed Vegetables, and a salad.

I am wearing... my old black pants and my old, but super comfy green turtleneck sweater.

I am reading... "Walking with the God who cares" with my husband. We're on Chapter 11.

I am hoping...to make the best use of my time today. I want to accomplish many things, but don't always have the energy or motivation to do all I want to do. I'm really hoping that as I lose more weight, this will improve.

I am creating... Valentine cards and birthday cards for my favorite February birthday people.

I am hearing... my daughter turn the pages of her favorite book - American Government (a tad sarcastic - sorry) as she searches diligently for answers to the questions.

Around the house... the various "house noises" are chattering away. The furnace is purring, the clock is ticking in rhythm, the keyboard is clicking away to the beat of my typing, and occasionally - I hear the snoring of my oldest child who works third shift and is now sleeping.
One of my favorite things...is a bowl of hot chili and homemade cornbread on a cold, wintry day.

A few plans for the rest of the week... The doctors and meeting tonight, laundry and preparing vegetables for the week tomorrow, school as usual, and setting appointments. Nothing major is going on this week, and hopefully the weather will not be to bad - so all in all, a rather laid back week.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
I am SOOOOO looking forward to Spring!

Chili and cornbread! OOOOH YEEEEEAH!

By the way...what are you doing to lose weight? We have been eating so much more healthy for the last 2 years, but my big disappointment is that we have BARELY lost any weight.

Enjoy the sunshine...I hear there's more snow in our future.

Hey there! Thanks SO MUCH for keeping our church hunt in your prayers. I believe we've decided on Troy Grace Baptist Church on Market St. It has a more contemporary worship (yep...a Baptist church! lol) and the pastor is on fire! He's really good and - get this - he's doing a series on MEMBERSHIP! Ha! With Ty and I going to a few other churches, we've been there twice, but the girls have been there 3 times and they really like it, too. We know a few homeschool families there, too.

They're having a lunch next week for those interested in membership, but we're singing at a church in New Bremen, so we need to call the pastor and make our own appointment to see about ministry opportunities, membership, etc.

Blessings, Kim<><
