Our garden's a bloomin'

Below are some of our early garden beauties.

I just had to show y'all my hosta. One, the huge critter doesn't seem to know it's planted in the sun - where it's not supposed to be...it just keeps growing, and two - the colors on this thing are so cool and refreshing. It's gotta be one of my favorites.

Next to it is the beginning of our new garden. I'd step back a bit more if I could - to get a better angle - but I'd be in the 3-season room....and have to take a pic through the screens. When it's finished, there'll be some rock cress or something similar on that elevated edge, and the fountain will be going (gotta dig a trench for the electric first!). I have 2 Princess Diana Clematis growing on the obelisk - which is kinda hard to see. I'll just have to figure out how to get a better picture.
My pagan son says this is our Zen garden...but no, it's just a peaceful retreat. I don't need any Zen in my life....God's in control.

To the right is our newest additions,
some Foxglove. It reminds me of
an old-fashioned garden, or a cottage
garden plant.

To the far right is some of the 1st
blooms on our Purple Clematis. It
figures, the nameplate I'd put at the
base last summer has disappeared.
I only know it is NOT Jacmani. I went out there this afternoon to find some blooms as big as 8" across! It's just beautiful.

If I could get around better (bad knee) - I'd spend my summers in the garden, it doesn't require gas, doesn't need air-conditioning, or food from the grocery...just water. Unfortunately, water isn't cheap either!
By way of a little intro., here's my homeschooler! She's got a year left, and is just 5 days from the end of this year. Needless to say, she's anxiously counting the minutes.

And...here's our favorite, elderly family member. Petey the Dawg. He's the sweetest, funniest, and most stubborn pooch you'd ever want to meet. This pic is from last summer... so he's a tad older - but still going strong at 14.

Now someone write and say hello!

Hello! What an enjoyable blog and post! Thanks for visiting my site :)

I see you're from Ohio. I was born in Ohio and lived there for the first two years of my life. I live in PA now, but my husband likes to tease me that I'm a "foreigner". (You know those born and bred Pennsylvania people can just be so picky - lol!)

Anyhow, your garden is lovely. I have a bad knee too (from a skiing accident many moons ago).

And I love your thoughts that God is in control. Yes, He's the One that brings us peace :)

Have a great week!

Hi Connie, thanks so much for stopping by and inviting me over for a visit. Your garden is very pretty and looks very inviting. I LOVE Hosta--but don't have any yet--not sure how they would do in my zone (8b). Your Clematis is very lovely. I just planted four this spring (Parisienne, Will Goodwin, Versailles, and Ruutel) and am impatiently waiting for them to become big beautiful blooming plants. Ya, I know, from what I hear I will be waiting quite a while--like three years or something like that. Anyway, nice to "meet" you and happy blogging.
