Bloomin' Tuesday

Bloomin' Tuesday
in Ohio

This is my favorite time of year. I love seeing the new growth and color. The daffodils and hyacinth are pretty much done, but the tulips are still doing well.

These red tulips are the stubborn ones I've mentioned before. Now matter what's happened around them, they keep coming up. They're now in the middle of the raspberry patch.

The purple tulips have been on this property since before we ever moved here. We've been here 23 years. Not bad!

I was frustrated when these opened up, because they were supposed to have some red in them...but, we didn't realize that as the tulip ages, it turns a light orangish red! I'll have to get an updated picture so you can see it. They're pretty! The yellow is pretty, too.

Most of these hosta were planted just last year. They're looking good.

My White Bleeding Hearts weren't growing all that well the last two years, but all the sudden - it's taken off. It's grown bigger than the Old Fashioned Bleeding Heart behind it.

My favorite is still the Old Fashioned Bleeding Heart. The pink is just so pretty.

Our little Dwarf ????? tree. I used to think it was a crabapple, but unless crabapples are only about the width of your pinky - I'd say someone got it wrong!

Regardless of what it is, these blooms are so delicate and fragile looking. They always bloom a few weeks before we have company...and by the time company comes...the blooms are gone. Go figure.

Well, that's a short tour of the Sheppard garden in Ohio...have we got some other states to see??

You have some wonderful blooms to share today. Love the bleeding hearts -- I don't think I've ever seen a white one. Really pretty! I also love the fact that you put "ohio" in your post. I love knowing where I am as I look at the photos!
