Tasty Tuesday

Wow, I just found this neat site, and decided to participate.

Tonight, we're having one of the simplest recipes I know...and it's good, too!

Salsa Chicken

Take frozen, boneless, chicken breasts (as few as 4 and as many as 8) and put them in your crockpot. Cover the chicken with a jar of salsa (mild, medium, hot - your pick).
Turn your crockpot on low and cook 7 to 8 hours, or if you don't have that much time, put on high and cook for 4 hours. I love to let it cook all day because then the chicken just literally falls apart! I occasionally stir sourcream into the sauce just before serving.

My daughter loves to take the chicken and put it on tortillas and fix with cheese and sour cream. My hubby and I usually serve it with rice and a vegetable. You could serve it with just about anything...couscous, over bisquits, with Spanish rice...the possibilities are endless.

Talk about simplicity! Enjoy!

There are loads of other recipes and ideas at this site:

Your Salsa Chicken recipe sounds delicious. I'm always looking for slow cooker recipes that have been tried and tested. One question, though, what size jar of Salsa did you use?

Thanks for sharing this recipe. These are 2 ingredients I always have on hand and I love the fact that you can throw the chicken in the crockpot while they are still frozen. Can't wait to try it.
